With it’s almost surrealistic , modern design the Citroen building housing a car showroom can easily compete with the other more recognized car manufacturers .
The architect Manuelle Gautrand has come up with the idea of using the brand symbol to construct a structure, to incorporate it within the building as a structural elements of the elevations, structural glazing .
The design is very innovative, fresh and unique, seems as a sculpture curved in between block of flats – the designer compares it also to a shiny diamond – which consist of many little “cuts” that resemble the brands logo, multiplied all over the elevation.
Thanks to an extensive use of a glass the showroom is totally open to visitors, and minimalistic character makes it a most desirable space for exhibition and presentation of the brand newest achievements.
The structure must have been quite a challenge to build from a technical and a stylistic point of view if you take into account the surrounding neighbouring buildings on the historic avenue of Paris.
The interior has been designed in a very minimalistic style, main colour scheme is white , all the finishes are smooth and shiny laminate coatings with the red and black colour accents and a major internal feature is a circular car lift/platform at a few floor levels .
The building is standing out of the adjoining buildings and perfectly emphasizes both , architect’s and the investor’s ideas.
